Habitat and Description: In open woodland on upper part of valley flat between slopes underlain by Eocene sands, on soils mapped as deep, excessively drained, slightly acid fine sandy loam Typic Ustifluvents (Sayers Series). Area lightly burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Agalinis heterophylla, Conyza canadensis, Croton capitatus, Cyperus entrerianus, Eupatorium serotinum, Helenium amarum, Juniperus virginiana, Paspalum notatum, Quercus nigra, Quercus stellata, Rudbeckia hirta, Smilax bona-nox, Verbena brasiliensis, Verbesina virginica.
