Habitat and Description: In burned-over post oak - loblolly pine forest or woodland on essentially level upland underlain by Eocene sands and clays of the Reklaw Formation, on soils mapped as deep, moderately well drained, slightly acid fine sandy loam Aquic Paleustalfs (Tabor Series). Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Croton capitatus, Dichanthelium spp., Diodia teres, Lechea tenuifolia, Polypremum procumbens, Pterocaulon virgatum, Rhynchospora harveyi, Solanum ptycanthum, Stylosanthes biflora, seedlings of Populus deltoides and Salix nigra.
