Habitat and Description:
In burned loblolly pine forest on steep gravelly slopes underlain by Carrizo Sand, on soils mapped as moderately deep, well drained, gravelly sandy loam Ultic Paleustalfs (Jedd Series). Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included upland Cyperus spp., Desmodium ciliare, Dichanthelium spp., Hypericum drummondii, Liatris cf. aspera, Pseudognaphalium obtusifolium, Schizachyrium scoparium. Common.
