Habitat and Description: In open low shrubland on gently sloping upland underlain by tuffaceous sandstone of the Tascotal Formation. Associates included Acacia neovernicosa, Acleisanthes longiflora, Agave lechuguilla, Allionia incarnata, Dasyochloa pulchella, Enneapogon desvauxii, Euphorbia dentata, Fouquieria splendens, Krameria grayi, Larrea tridentata, Opuntia imbricata, O. leptocaulis, Pectis filipes, Perityle vaseyi, Sida abutifolia, Tidestroemia lanuginosa, Viguiera stenoloba, Yucca torreyi.
