Habitat and Description: In huisache-invaded formerly tame pasture, on soils mapped as very deep, moderately well drained, nonsaline soils with a surface layer of slightly acid to neutral sandy clay loam (Dacosta Series, Vertic Argiudolls), on level coastal plain landscape underlain by clays of the Beaumont Formation. Associates included Acacia farnesiana, Agalinis heterophylla, A. strictifolia, Ambrosia psilostachya, Baccharis neglecta, Chloris canterai, Croton capitatus, Dichanthelium sp., Helenium amarum, Iva annua, Oligoneuron rigidum, Paspalum notatum, Phyla nodiflora, Schizachyrium scoparium, Setaria cf. leucopila, Verbena xutha. Frequent.
