Habitat and Description:
In burned loblolly pine - post oak forest on nearly level upland underlain by Eocene sands, on soils mapped as on moderately well drained, neutral to slightly acid fine sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs). Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Acalypha monococca, Aristida longespica, Chloris ciliata, Conyza canadensis, Croton capitatus, Eupatorium capillifolium, Liatris elegans, Paspalum plicatulum, P. setaceum, Phytolacca americana, Solidago altissima.
