Habitat and Description: In narrow strip of woodland in bottom of narrow U-shaped canyon in Salmon Peak Limestone near top of landscape. Plants pistillate. Associates included Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula, Astrolepis sinuata (sensu lato), Buddleja racemosa ssp. incana, Celtis reticulata, Dasylirion texanum, Diospyros texana, Eupatorium havanense, Forestiera reticulata, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Leucaena retusa, Meximalva filipes, Notholaena standleyi, Opuntia lindheimeri, Penstemon baccharifolius, Porophyllum scoparium, Quercus cf. pungens, Rhus virens, Sophora secundiflora, Yeatesia platystegia, Yucca treculeana. Medium shrub, heavily browsed; locally common.
