Habitat and Description: In open shrubland on extremely shallow soil on narrow convex ridgetop and upper canyon slopes with numerous exposures of Salmon Peak Limestone. Woody dominants Agave lechuguilla and Dasylirion texanum, but Rhus virens and shrubby Quercus also common. Other associates included Acacia berlandieri, Acleisanthes longiflora, Astrolepis sinuata (sensu lato), Bouteloua curtipendula, Cynanchum maccartii, Dalea nana, Echinocereus triglochidiatus, Erioneuron pilosum, Euphorbia angusta, Jatropha dioica, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Linum rupestre, Macrosiphonia macrosiphon, Mimosa sp., Panicum hallii, Polygala lindheimeri, Selaginella lepidophylla, Yeatesia platystegia. Common.
