Locality: United States, TEXAS, Bastrop, W edge of Alum Creek floodplain just S of main road on Hoppy Spring tract, ca. 0.4 airmiles SE of Hoppy Springs, ca. 1.2-1.3 airmiles SSE of jct. St. Rt. 21 and F. M. 1441 NE of Bastrop. Bastrop State Park. Smithville NW Quadrangle. Elev. 410 ft.

Habitat and Description: In patches of low-stature vegetation within matrix of taller species, in wetland on claypan on valley flat, foot of sandy slope underlain by Eocene sands. Area lightly burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Bidens frondosa, Boltonia diffusa, Conoclinium coelestinum, Cyperus strigosus, C. virens, Dichanthelium scoparium, Diospyros virginiana, Eleocharis quadrangulata, E. tortilis, Eupatorium serotinum, Helianthus angustifolius, lasiocarpos, Hydrocotyle umbellata, Juncus diffusissimus, J. validus, Lindernia dubia, Ludwigia decurrens, L. palustris, Panicum rigidulum, Paspalum urvillei, Persicaria hydropiperoides, Pluchea odorata, Proserpinaca palustris, Rhexia mariana, Rhynchospora corniculata, Sesbania vesicaria, Strophostyles helvola, Verbena brasiliensis. Culms creeping, rooting at nodes; common.
