Habitat and Description: Along margin of somewhat open deciduous riparian woodland on floodplain of small perennial stream, on soils mapped as deep, excessively drained, slightly acid fine sandy loam (Sayers Series, Typic Ustifluvents), between gentle slopes underlain by Eocene sand. Area lightly burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Ampelopsis arborea, Campsis radicans, Carya illinoinensis, Chasmanthium latifolium, C. sessilifolium, Dichanthelium spp., Dichondra carolinensis, Eupatorium serotinum, Ilex vomitoria, Iva annua, Melothria pendula, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Paspalum urvillei, Passiflora lutea, Phytolacca americana, Quercus nigra, Sida rhombifolia, Smilax bona-nox, Solanum ptycanthum, Solidago altissima, Tridens flavus, Ulmus americana, Verbesina virginica.
