Habitat and Description: Dense woods at roadside. Underbrush removed. Gray, clayey sand, wet, some standing water. Assoc. Quercus nigra, Q. phellos, Acer drummondii, Liquidambar, Chionanthus, Fraxinus, Carpinus, Magnolia grand., M. virg. Annual herb, 12-14 inches. In tussocks. Bright light green perigynia.
