Habitat and Description: Small tree and shrub scrubland on level terrain and banks of ox-bow lakes ("resacas") in "Rio Grande Plains" or "South Texas Plains" Vegetational Area. Assoc.: Prosopis glandulosa, Celtis laevigata, Fraxinus berlandieriana, Acacia farnesiana, Ehretia elliptica, Parkinsonia aculeata, Buddleia sessiliflora.
