Habitat and Description: Near tops of steep rocky mesas. Associated plants: Juniperus, Sophora, Agave lecheguilla, Dasylirion, Yucca, Opuntia (flat), Fraxinus greggii, Fouquieria splendens. Height: 5-15 ft. D.B.H.: 6 in. Common, dominant, scattered. Seeds thin-shelled. Bark blackish. Needles 2.
