Locality: United States, Texas, Brazoria, Along canal (= new Brazos course) leading into Intracoastal Waterway, ca. 100 m E of canal, 1 mile S of Highway 36, Freeport. Elev. 10 ft.
Habitat and Description: Wet bottom land near river mouth, sandy clay. Growing in Opuntia sp. clump. Acacia farn.-Sesbania sp. complex. Shrub, 1 m; basal diameter 2 cm. Crown diameter 1.5 m. Densely branched. Bark smooth gray. 0.5 cm needles terminate some branches. Corolla violet.
