Habitat and Description: Small tree and shrub scrubland on level terrain and banks of oxbow lakes ("resacas") in Rio Grande Plains or South Texas Plains Vegetational Area. Assoc.: Prosopis glandulosa, Celtis laevigata, Fraxinus berlandieriana, Acacia farnesiana, Ehretia elliptica, Parkinsonia aculeata, Buddleia sessiliflora. Common on riverbanks, flowers white.
